9 Things Your Bartender Just Doesn't Want To Hear
So Stop!
Bartenders like a good banter by the bar. But how much is too much? Your bartender might be too kind to tell you when you’re being ridiculous, but sometimes you just are. No offence!
So, we’ll go ahead and help you know when to stop and what not to say.
The next time you feel like striking a conversation with a bartender, make sure these annoying things aren’t part of the discussion. Because, this is what your bartender doesn’t want to hear.
“Can you make my drink extra strong?”
If you’re ordering a single measure of Johnnie Walker Black Label, the bartender can only give you 30ml. How about you ask for a double if you want something stronger?
“I don’t like the taste of alcohol. I’m allergic to beer. I’m not fond of wine. What else can you suggest I drink?”
For people who don’t like their alcohols neat, cocktails are a good option. Pick a cocktail from the menu beforehand, because that’s what the bartender will suggest anyway.
“Charge my phone at the bar”
If a bartender had a rupee for each time he was asked to charge a phone through the day, he’d be able to buy himself the most expensive cocktail on the menu. That’s how often he gets asked and it can be annoying.
“It’s better when you make the drink this way instead *inserts own advice on making a drink*”
Your bartender is trained at a bar school. There’s a good chance he knows how to make a drink right.
“It’s my birthday, can I get some free shots?”
If bartenders started giving away free drinks for everyone’s birthday, they’d be giving out drinks 365 days a year.
“Can I get a *mentions random cocktail that’s not on the menu*?”
How about you enjoy the bartender’s concoction this time and make your choice of cocktail yourself at home.
PS: Here are some easy cocktails you can make at home.
“Will you take our picture?”
The bartender might agree to take your picture but remember someone somewhere at the bar is waiting for their drink. Be kind to a fellow drinker and don’t take up the bartender’s time.
“What is the healthiest drink I could have?”
Every drink has a different calorie count. Know the calories in your drink better before asking your bartender these questions.
“I’ll have another drink *at 1.35am*”
The last call for drinks was 25 minutes ago, buddy. The bartender has left the building and so should you.

Are you guilty of saying any of these things to a bartender? If yes, PLEASE STOP!
*Drink Responsibly!
