If you like these then you know you are a true desi at heart!

I like all things desi. From food to cocktails, I would go for them any time any day. I mean the tanginess, the spiciness, and even the sweetness. All of them go together better than Amar Akbar Anthony ever did. 

So, if you’re hosting a party this season, why not give it a twist with some ‘desiness’ on your menu.

Think hot pakodas dipped in meethi chutney, the sourness of rasam, and the crispiness of samosas. I don’t know about you but I am drooling already! 

When you have so much riding on, I bet you can’t help but keep your angrezi khaana and cocktails on hold and get sippin’ on these desi concoctions jaldi! 

1. Smirnoff No. 21 Shikanji
Why have a regular shikanji when you can have it with a twist?

Ingredients
50ml Smirnoff No.21 Vodka
30ml lime juice
40ml sugar syrup
1 tbsp. shikanji salt 
Mint leaves
Ice
Lemon wheel, for garnish

Method
In a shaker, add Smirnoff No.21 Vodka, ice, lime juice, shikanji salt, mint leaves and the syrup. 
After shaking it, strain it into a cocktail glass and garnish it with a lemon wheel.

2. Sugarcane Mojito
The sweetness of sugarcane + mintiness of Mojito = MIND BLOWN. 

Ingredients
60ml Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
30ml sugarcane juice
20ml lemon juice
4 sugarcane pieces cut into cubes
Mint leaves
Soda
Ice
Sugarcane stick, for garnish

Method
Add sugarcane cubes, mint leaves in a cocktail glass, and muddle them.
Add Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, sugarcane juice, lemon juice and soda. Then, stir.
Add ice, mint leaves and sugarcane stick for garnish.

3. Rasam-tini With A Twist
If you like your martinis shaken, not stirred, you would definitely like this ‘rasam-dar’ one as well!

Ingredients 
45ml Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
Rasam (chilled, and strained)
A pinch of dry roasted and ground cumin, for garnish
1 Lemon wheel, for garnish
5-6 curry leaves
Ice 

Method
Muddle the curry leaves. In a shaker, add Smirnoff No.21 Vodka, rasam, curry leaves and ice.
Shake and strain it into a martini glass.
Top it with lemon wheel, cumin powder, and there you have it.

4. Guava Mary
Want to give your taste buds a surprise? Well, Guava Mary is at your service.

Ingredients
50ml Smirnoff No.21 Vodka
30ml guava juice
Tabasco
Lemon slice
Chilli powder, for garnish

Method
Add Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, guava juice and tabasco in a shaker.
Pour the mix into a cocktail glass after rimming the glass with chilli powder.
