Delicious Mixers That Prove Gin Was Not Only Made For Tonic | Social Goat Skip to main content
Here are some gin-credible ways to drink gin!

The unspoken rule about gin is that it is almost always served with tonic. Which is why, if you’re throwing a gin-tastic party and suddenly realise you’re out of tonic, there’s good reason to panic…Or maybe not.

G&T may be a classic, but many people have accepted that gin can be savoured with other mixers too. So, if you’ve found your gin, we have a mixer for you…that’s not tonic but pairs just as well.

Here’s to embracing a new be-GIN-ning with these mixers for your gin.

Soda
Soda is a lot like tonic itself, minus the bitterness. Using flavourless soda with gin allows you to taste the botanical flavours of gin better. It also adds a good amount of bubbles to your drink. You can also opt for flavoured soda in case you love flavoured drinks.

Lemonade
The botanical flavours of gin go well with citrus-y drinks. You’ll particularly appreciate a sweet lemonade mixer on a warm summer day. If you prefer the sharp taste of tonic, choose plain lemon juice instead. It is simple, citrus-y and has just the right amount of bitterness.

Coke
Before you judge us for this absurdity, you should know that gin and coke are quite the popular serve in Spain. Coke adds a little sweetness to the drink but it you want to maintain the bitterness, you can add a dash of lime juice to it. Go try it out if you haven’t yet!

Ginger Beer
If you like gin, and you like ginger beer, it’s about time you put them together. Don’t just take our word for it, there is an actual cocktail called the Ginger Buck that uses this combination. Mixing a light herbaceous gin with the fiery flavours of ginger beer can make for a spicy slow sipper.

Tea
It doesn’t get any more British than this pairing. UK’s two favourite drinks, tea and gin combine to make a classic thirst- quencher, also called the Royal Tea. Mix together Earl Grey tea leaves with gin and allow it to infuse for about two hours. Finally, strain them into a teacup and top it off with soda.

Now these sound Gin-ilicious, right? Give these mixers a shot the next time you pop open that bottle of Tanqueray.
