You might have spent most of your time sipping on Scotch neat or on the rocks but those aren’t the only ways to savour a good dram. That’s like saying you like poached eggs and you’re ready to eat them in that single way for the rest of your life.
It’s true that Scotch has its own set of loyalists, and for good reasons. The drink is divine on its own. But there’s a whole world of Scotch cocktails out there, concocted specially for people who like their Scottish whiskies.  
If you’re one of them, you need to know about these quintessential Scotch-tails.

Rob Roy
The Rob Roy is the Scottish cousin of the Manhattan. It is concocted similarly like the Manhattan but made exclusively with Scotch whisky. 

Ingredients
60ml Johnnie Walker Black Label 
20ml Sweet Vermouth 
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Cherries, for garnish 

Method
Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass over ice and stir.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with speared cherries.

Godfather
What an Old Fashioned is to bourbon, the Godfather is to Scotch. This is one of the few classic mixed drinks that include Scotch whisky only. 

Ingredients
45ml Johnnie Walker Black Label 
15ml Amaretto Liqueur 

Method
In an old fashioned glass, build all the ingredients with ice.
Stir and serve.

Another time-honoured classic, the Blood and Sand has been around on the Scotch cocktail menus since the 1920s.

30ml Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve 
30ml Cherry Brandy 
30ml Sweet Vermouth

10ml Lemon Juice 

Method
Pour all the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake well.
Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.

The Rusty Nail is another popular name among Scotch lovers. Mix any Scotch whisky to make this iconic cocktail and it’ll prove to be worth the pour.

45ml Johnnie Walker Black Label Whisky

Lemon Twist, for garnish

Method
Pour all the ingredients in an old fashion glass.
Stir, garnish and serve.

60mls Ginger Ale
