Amp up tour iced tea game.
Tea time meets cocktail hour!
It is safe to say, we all love our ice teas on a hot summer's day! It just does not taste good, it is delicious. However, don't you think it would be amazing to give it a new twist with our favourite whisky?
We caught up with our in-house expert – Zachary Abbott, Brand Ambassador, Diageo and sipped on the iced tea made with panache. And trust us, we were impressed! We made sure to get the recipe written down because, we were mind-blown!
The iced tea is a refreshing popular mixed drink that comes in many flavourful ways, we bet you can’t resist. These delicious drinks are the perfect way to start tea time and extend it until cocktail hour.
Is there anything better than a cold glass of iced tea on a sweltering day?
The iced tea and tea itself has made its way into cocktails for hundreds of years now. Ironically, it is the best recognised cocktail with the namesake itself that frustratingly has no tea in the recipe at all!
When modern mixologists look to pair teas with spirits it’s usually gin and vodka that are chosen. The reason being, that the light notes of the teas are more easily matched with the soft neutral flavours of vodka or the inviting botanical notes of gin. But if you like your whisky or rum, don’t you worry! Even whisky and dark rum has a place when properly introduced to the mix.
So, get that bottle of Scotch whisky out and get ready to pour…
