#SocialGoatLoves These 5 Spots To Get The Best Butter Chicken In Bengaluru

Saylee Padwal
When we say Butter, you say Chicken!

What quite possibly is North India’s most famous dish, has a lot of takers in Bengaluru as well. Call it Butter Chicken, Murgh Makhanwala, or Murgh Makhni, this chicken cooked in a sweet tomato gravy always has us licking our fingers and reaching for some naan.
Created in the 1950’s in the famed Moti Mahal, the dish was made ‘accidentally’ by mixing leftover chicken with a tomato gravy, rich in butter and cream.
Now if we’ve accidentally got you craving that sweet, buttery gravy, look no further than our picks for the best  Butter Chicken places in the city.

1. Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba, JP Nagar
When you know that a place requires you to wait for 45 minutes to get a table, you know it’s going to be worth it. While providing customers with an authentic dhaba feel, Chulha Chauki has a menu laced with the most delicious North Indian food you can think of. With two types of butter chicken, Chicken Makhanwala and Chicken Butter Masala, both reasonably priced, you’re in for a treat at this restaurant! Order some signature parathas from their ‘hot wheats’ section and soak them up in the rich, buttery gravies. All in all, a fantastic pick!

2. Byg Brewski Brewing Company, Sarjapur Road
You might be familiar with Byg Brewski being one of Bengaluru’s most popular breweries, but did you know that they serve excellent butter chicken as well? Aptly named the Byg Butter Chicken, if you’re ever on the fence about what to pair with your favourite brew, go for this one. Smokey, with a pleasantly thick gravy, it’s rich, decadent, and really good.

3. Punjab Grill, Whitefield
Think of feasting on North Indian cuisine in an elegant setting, and the first name to pop up in your mind is Punjab Grill. A full-fledged Punjabi menu, excellent service, and a relaxing ambience, the restaurant chain is known to offer an experience, unparalleled. You may go ahead and order some Paneer Lababadaar, Nalli Nihari, or Fish Amritsari, but the Butter Chicken here is what steals the show. Scoop it up with Chur Chur Naan on your next visit and you’ll enjoy every single bite!

4. Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi, Marathahalli
With a restaurant that has ‘Delhi’ in its name, you can’t go wrong with your Butter Chicken order. Perfect for Bollywood lovers, it dons the look of an actual highway restaurant with its rustic ambience. Opt for a full course meal, and your belly will be delighted with their flavourful take on pukka North Indian food. From Soya Chaap to Ganne Ka Ras, the menu is beautifully created, apart from the creamiest Butter Chicken you’ll ever feast on. On a side note, we like ours with a Dhabe Ki Roti, or three.

5. Social, Koramangala
Now, if you’re a fan of Butter Chicken but in love with Biryani, Social has the best of both worlds. The Butter Chicken Biryani served with colourful fryums, is satisfying with its spicy aroma, and tender, chunky chicken. Garnished with an ample amount of boiled egg whites and nuts, the Biryani makes for a well-rounded meal on a chilled, laid back evening. Definitely an upgrade from the basic Butter Chicken!
