10 SONGS BY KK THAT ARE OUR FAVOURITES | Social Goat Skip to main content
It was 2006. Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai from Gangster had just released. I instantly fell in love with this song, that I listened to it on loop. I used to hum this tune while sitting at my window and imagining myself in the movie. KK or Krishnakumar Kunnath was responsible for this great track. I still listen to this soothing track while stuck in traffic on my way home.

Scroll down to refresh your memory with some of his most beautiful songs.

1. Bas Ek Pal, Bas Ek Pal

Listening to this song bring back fond college memories.
Play. Sing. Repeat.

2. Tu Aashiqui Hai, Jhankar Beats

This track still has my heart. The memory of listening to this song for the first time comes rushing back to me – every single time. Remember the clapping in chorus? Iconic!

3. Yaaron, Pal
Remember Pyaar Ke Pal being played at school farewells? Well, Pyaar Ke Pal and Yaaron were from the same album, Pal. To be honest, if this song was your farewell number, Yaaron was definitely your friendship anthem. Because, trust us, it was ours!

4. Mera Pehla Pehla PyaarMera Pehla Pehla Pyaar
Remember those cute school crushes? (Well, our crushes never knew we crushed on them, so yeah…) But this song caught on with youngsters and is remembered as a love anthem.

5. Tadap Tadap, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
For those of you who didn’t know, KK started his musical career in Bollywood with this song. I remember trying to sing this high-pitched track and failing miserably at it.

Tadap Tadapke Is Dil Se
Aah Nikalti Rahi
Mujhko Saza Di Pyaar Ki
Aisa Kya Gunaah Kiya
To Loot Gaye Haan Loot Gaye… aye… yeeeeee…. *coughs *chokes *dies

6. Khuda Jaane, Bachna Ae Haseeno
KK’s voice + lyrics = memories come flooding back from 2008.
This song ruled the Hindi music charts for a long, long time. Admit it, we all loved this Jodi and rooted for them in real life too.

7. Labon Ko, Bhool Bhulaiya
Long before remixes entered the Bollywood scene, this track defined romance. This song was the epitome of love and KK’s voice was tailor made for this one.

8. Aankhon Mein Teri Ajab Si, Om Shanti Om
Another soulful rendition by KK is this great song. Who better than KK to tell you your eyes have ajab si adayein?

9. Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai, Gangster
The butterflies we had when we were head over heels in love with our school crush. This song just gave us all the feels!

10. Dil Kyun Ye Mera, Kites
Soft and melodious, this track is a soothing number that we just can’t get over. KK’s voice was absolute perfection and we like this song even today.
