Indians Who Have Made Us Proud In Hollywood Beside Priyanka And Deepika
East ho ya west, India is the best!
In the past, Indian-origin actors were roped in Hollywood only to play certain clichéd roles like the nerdy doctor, a convenience store owner or a cab driver. While there was nothing wrong with these roles, the repetitive and poorly defined characters almost became the typical Indian stereotypes – hard to shake off.
Cut to the scene today where Indian-origin actors are not just making us proud by pulling off dimensional ethnic characters, but also challenging the conventional roles expected of them. They are boldly rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood A-listers and representing us on the international map.
And if you thought Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were the only ones, wait till you read our list.
1. Freida Pinto
The Mumbai-born starlet became famous overnight with her very first movie Slumdog Millionaire. From there onwards, she never looked back and even went on to become a part of a Woody Allen movie. Yeah, we know a lot of actors would kill to get a role like that!
2. Aziz Ansari
He is one of the most well-known names in the TV-stars-from-India line up. He also became the first ever South Asian actor to get an Emmy nomination for his Netflix comedy series – Master of None.

The British-Indian actor was born in London but spent most parts of his growing up years in Delhi. The shy little nerd never fails to amaze us with his adorable Indian accent.

7. Suraj Sharma
The Delhi boy tasted success with his very first movie ‘Life of Pi’. He has also starred in many other movies like Million Dollar Arm and Burn Your Maps. Besides movies, he has also been a part of the binge-worthy series, Homeland.
