Let us walk you down the journey of how a little girl from Himachal rose to stardom and stole our hearts!
We all know Kangana made her debut with the movie ‘Gangster’ in 2006. But not many know she was a last-minute replacement after Chitrangada Singh unexpectedly backed out of the movie. Good for Kangana!
In the same year, ‘Woh Lamhe’ released where Kangana played erstwhile actress Parveen Babi’s role with such finesse that it was clear she was no ‘one-time lucky’ actress but was here to stay.
But it was precisely two years later when she hit the jackpot with ‘Fashion’. Even though Priyanka Chopra was in the movie, Kangana stole the limelight from her and awed us with her grandeur. No wonder she won her first National Award for this movie.
Kangana showed immense promise in movies like ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’ and ‘Life in a Metro’, but it was in 2011 that she went on to cement her position as one of the most versatile and talented actresses of Bollywood. ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ became a colossal hit at the box office with fans singing praises of her humorous dialogues and breezy performance.
Then came ‘Queen’ in 2014 which catapulted her into the league of actresses who could single-handedly run a movie on their shoulders. The film not just won her a National Award but became a great inspiration for many. The role of ‘Rani’ struck a chord with everyone and gave her a sweeping entry in the heart of zillions more.
After that grand success, Kangana followed it up with her third National award for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ in 2015. She aced both the roles that were so strikingly different from each other and made it seem like a walk in the park. That’s Kangana for you. Her craft comes before anything else. She dives so deep into all her roles that the results leave you astounded.
If you want to know about the struggles and failures it took for Kangana to reach here, catch her live on the Signature Startup Masterclass 3.0 on 18th January in Gurgaon and watch her share her #PassionToPaycheck journey.
