5 Eggnog Breakfast Recipes That Make You Go Nog Nog Nog! | Social Goat Skip to main content
These are perfect for those cold winter mornings

A festive favourite, eggnog is the first thing you prepare when you’re hosting a dinner party for friends and family this season. It’s creamy, egg-y and just the right kind of dream-y as a party sipper.

But there’s more you can do with it after a party too. Chances are, you made a big batch of eggnog and there’s quite a bit leftover.

What do you do?

While sipping on last night’s eggnog might not be the most appetising thing, repurposing it as a breakfast ingredient might give your food an interesting twist.

So, wake up and get ready to #NogThingsUp with these awesome breakfast options.

1.     With Waffles
Nothing spells festive season like waffles for breakfast! Once you’re done with getting the waffle ready, skip the maple syrup and use eggnog instead! Don’t forget to sprinkle some cinnamon powder for an added flavour.

2. With Latte
On most days, a caffeine fix is just what you need to kickstart the day! Add eggnog to this blend and you’ve got yourself a mini party! Pour 1/2 cup of hot eggnog into 1/4 cup of milk and stir it well. Pour a shot of espresso and top it up with whipped cream. Crumble a chocolate chip cookie to make it seem extra festive.

3.     With Oatmeal
If you’re perpetually running late and can’t find the time to have a lavish breakfast, eggnog oatmeal is your go-to recipe! Blend together 2 cups of oats with 2/3 cup of eggnog. Then add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder and 1/3 cup of water. Slice up a banana into small pieces and any other fruit of your choice. Heat this mixture in a pan for about 8 minutes while stirring continuously. If you like your oatmeal nutty, toss some walnuts and almonds on top. Voila!

4.     With Brownies
Brownies for breakfast? Well, it’s the festive season, so why not! Pick a brownie of your choice as the base. Take a large bowl and mix 1 cup of butter with 2 cups of powdered sugar and blend well. Add 2 spoons of eggnog to this mixture and keep stirring continuously. Add a spoonful of nutmeg powder to it, if you want an additional flavour. Your frosting is ready! Go ahead a frost your brownies, cupcakes or even biscuits because it's that time of the year!

5.     With Hot Chocolate
Instead of using a hot chocolate powder, we boil 2 cups of milk and add 2 spoons of sugar to it. While the milk is heating, microwave 1 cup of chopped dark chocolate for 30 seconds. Stir it and reheat it for 30 seconds. Continue this process until the chocolate has melted properly. Once the milk is hot enough, add the melted chocolate to it. Coat your mug with the remaining melted chocolate and pour the mixture in it. Top it up with 3 spoons of eggnog and marshmallows! Yummers!
