Top 6 movies of 2020 to look forward to Skip to main content
The top movies that may end up defining Hindi Cinema in 2020.

looking ahead at the upcoming releases the year has in store. Last year was gratifying for Hindi cinema with some highly successful commercial movies like War, Kabir Singh, Gully Boy and content-driven movies like Uri, Bala, Badla and Article 15. This year too, seems full of promises with pretty interesting movies in the pipeline hitting the theatres in 2020.

So, as we enter this new decade I thought of listing the Bollywood movies scheduled to be released this year that I personally think could be paisa vasool.

Jawaani Jaanemann (31st January 2020)

Starring debutante Alaia Furniturewala, the ravishing Tabu and the ‘wow’ actor Saif, the trailer of the movie hints that this is going to be a fun romantic comedy. Saif seems to be playing the role of a Casanova who fears commitments. His life is thrown completely out of whack when Alaia reveals she could be his daughter he never knew about and Tabu, his partner. I can’t wait to get on this joy ride!

Love Aaj Kal 2 (14th February 2020)

God knows fans of Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan wanted the two to come together for a movie ever since the pretty lady declared her crush for the handsome lad on Koffee with Karan. Imtiaz Ali is the chosen angel set to grant us #Sartik fans this wish and make our Valentine’s more special this year with a promising love story.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan (21st February 2020)

Trust Ayushmann Khurrana to take up the next social evil with as much enthusiasm as he did the last one. And you know what? He hardly ever not nails it. This film revolves around the social stigma that gay relations are made to go through. Interestingly, playing pivotal roles in the movie are his Badhaai Ho co-actors Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta. We can’t wait to see this trio repeat their magic on the silver screen again.

Sooryavanshi (27th March 2020)

This movie is going to be special for two reasons. One, Rohit Shetty returns to the action genre after tickling our funny bone with Simmba. So, get ready for some car flipping and heavy-duty action sequences! Two, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif get to pair opposite each other after what seems like a gazillion years! *sheds happy tears*

83 (10th April 2020)

If there’s one thing us Indians are passionate about collectively, it’s cricket. And, when you combine it with movies backed by the ace combination of Kabir Khan’s direction and ‘energy ka bhandaar' Ranveer Singh, you know you are setting up for success. Based on legendary Kapil Dev’s journey to the historic World Cup Win of 1983, I feel this movie will be Ranveer’s #MyMarkMySignature moment for 2020.
