Black Dog Easy Evenings In Delhi Was The Perfect Way To Unwind On A Friday
What is your idea of an ideal Friday night? I mean, after attending numerous conference calls and meetings, there has to be a fun way to take the week’s stress off our backs. I thankfully happened to be at Black Dog Easy Evenings at the Sheraton Hotel, New Delhi hoping it would be a relaxing way to kickstart the weekend.
Now I can’t lay down the entire show for you but what I can do is tell you what made it a memorable evening.
1. A strong lineup
You know it’s going to be a happening night when there’s Papa CJ, Cyrus Sahukar, Danish Sait, RJ Darius Sunawala, Anil Abraham and Saad Khan under the same roof. Needless to say, as soon as they grabbed the mic it was an endless laughathon for me. What made it even better was the fact that my plan to slide into the weekend was working!
2. Papa CJ never misses to live up to his hype!
I finally know why he’s the original stand-up comedian of India. Somehow, he made everything funny, be it relationships, office, travel, family and some really nasty stuff we can’t really talk about here.
3. One crazy hour of pure improv
The audience threw some random situations and words at them and the stand-ups made up a set ON THE SPOT. Quite impressive if you ask me. You need to be talented on a different level to pull something off like this.
4. Let’s get down to food and drinks!
For someone who’s always on the lookout for good food, it’s without a doubt the second most important thing for me to talk about. While the venue served delicious food, the bar is what caught my eye! No, I didn’t overindulge, because well, I was still at work and yes, we should always drink responsibly. That being said, it surely made the experience more enticing and enjoyable. I mean, who doesn’t like some smooth whiskey on a laid-back evening.
5. The takeaway
As simple as it looks, getting up on stage and being humorous is not everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, the highlight of the show was the improv. As if standing in the spotlight in front of a huge audience to make them laugh was not enough, the comedians threw some killer jokes and one-liners on the spot that I’d be using on my future dates..
And as far as I’m concerned, going for ‘Black Dog Easy Evening’ was definitely a good decision. I had a great time that it made me forget all the energy that the hectic week had sapped out of me.
Long story short:
Humor - check.
Ambiance - check.
Meeting famous people - check.
Open bar - double check.
