Saylee Padwal
Because, it's the circle of love!

Best described as comfort food, a pizza is easy to eat, hearty, loaded with toppings and of course – oozing with cheese!

Eat it by the slice or have it whole, we aren’t judging you when it comes to pizza.

There are plenty of fantastic pies in Mumbai, whether you’re after authentic deep dish, thin crust, or something altogether new and awesome.

Here’s our list of the most essential spots to get the best slices and pies in town, as proof!

Come, discover the most irresistible pizzas the city has to offer.

PizzaExpress, BKC

This UK chain has become synonymous with good pizza owing to its perfect ratio of toppings-to-cheese-to-crust and its wood-burning oven! It also has the most perfect New York-style cheesecake.

Stick with familiar favourites like Margherita, or the Formaggi 65—a thick crust cheesy pizza with buffalo mozzarella and emilgrana cheese—or veer into fun, gourmet takes on Italian classics such as the square-shaped Calabrese or the Hawaiian.

I GOAT Your Back:  Pair your pizza with their signature Dough Balls Doppio. Served with a trio of dips – pesto, pesto rosso and garlic butter – they’re perfect for sharing.

Pi Pizzeria, Khar

If the exposed brick walls and rustic ambience at Pi Pizzeria don’t draw you in, the aroma of freshly baked pizza and garlic bread definitely will. Most of their ingredients are sourced from countries across Europe which really bring out the authentic charm of the dishes. Their pastas, baked mushrooms, and tiramisu are all fantastic, but it’s their massive list of pizzas that remains the star of the show.

I GOAT Your Back: The S’mores Pizza topped with chocolate, walnuts, ice cream and toasted marshmallows is the epitome of the late-night, craving-worthy pie.

Eva’s Pizza, Malad

When you’re ordering from Eva’s Pizza, it’s hard to pick just one pie to go with. We’re huge fans of their generous topping ratio and it’s rightfully become a house party essential. Eva’s pizzas are unabashedly doughy and chewy, topped with all the ingredients that we love seeing on our pies. Everything from their Mexican to their Veg Bonanza and Barbeque Chicken is phenomenal, but it’s their Meatzaa – with bacon, sausage, ham, pepperoni on a cheese-burst base - that claims top prize for us.  End your meal with some sinfully delicious Chocolate Mousse.

I GOAT Your Back: Beyond the pizzas are other showstoppers like the Super Cheese Garlic Bread and the Pizza Crust Chicken Sandwich.

The Quarter, Charni Road

People talk a lot about the small plates at The Quarter, and rightly so, but you shouldn’t forget about the pizzas here either. Their Napolitano pizzas are separated into two sections; red with a tomato sauce base and white with a cheese base. Chewy and crispy and perfectly charred, these are the kind of pizzas you can’t help but order on every visit.

The Quarter lavishly topped with burrata, bocconcini and buffalo mozzarella is a good place to start, but the Pollo Fungi with cajun spiced chicken and San Marzano tomatoes is one of our favourites.

I GOAT Your Back: The old-world charm of the place and comfortable seating is perfect for a leisurely Sunday brunch.

Del Italia, Lower Parel

You’ll find Del Italia in between a bunch of other pop-ups at Flea Bazaar Café serving affordable, delicious, and absolutely massive pizzas. Although you can only find eight varieties on the menu, don't let that worry you—they're all great, so go along with a group of friends and order one of each *wink wink*

The expansive 7,000 square-foot space at Flea Bazaar offers picnic-style communal tables along with cosy two-seaters ideal for watching the pizza-making action from the open kitchen.

p

I GOAT Your Back: We’re partial to the 4 Cheese and Chicken Pepperoni pizzas.
