Dear Homebodies, Here’s Why I Still Like Going Out To “Party” On A Weekend
I’m at an age where most of my friends look forward to eating aged cheese in bed for the rest of their weekends. If you’ve not guessed already, we’re all millennials who’ve been there and done it all. But these days trying to get my friends in crowded spaces or even out of the house on a Saturday night seems like a task tougher than Sartaj’s search for Gaitonde in Sacred Games.
There’s terrible traffic, crazy crowds and too much hassle to get a table reservation or even get inside a club/pub – Agreed! Despite that, I’ll give you a few reasons why it’s worth going out partying every now and then.
All you socially menopausal millennials listen up! This will ease any confusion you’re having about going out vs staying in tonight.
Between your office formals and ghar ka pyjamas, this is your one true chance to finally dress up in that super fancy outfit you have nowhere else to wear.
All those makeup tutorial videos you’ve spent so much time watching will finally be put to good use.
You can dance to loud music all evening without having to worry about Sharma aunty complaining to your landlord.
A bartender will make you a handcrafted cocktail with eight muddled mint leaves and a dash of bitters, instead of that same old vodka with Sprite you make at home.
There are only so many friends that’ll fit in that 1BHK home of yours in Mumbai. If you want to enjoy the night with all your friends, you’ll need a bigger dance floor.
Food on the floor, broken glasses and stains on the couch, for once it’s not your house and not your mess to clean. Phew!
At least clubs/pubs have a closing time where you’ll be asked to go home to bed at 1:30 am. If you’re at home, Netflix will keep you up all night. If you’re at a house party, there’s no way your friends will allow you to leave before 5 am.
Life is short. Go out and party. Make some memories for yourself and your Instagram page.
