Get Ready To Be Yazu’d At The Perfect Pan Asian Supper Club

Neha D'Souza
Have You Been Yazu’d Yet?

If you’re in for some dimsums, dancing and everything in between, just pick up your phone and make a reservation for Yazu right now! No, seriously, do it. Being a fan of Asian food, I couldn’t stop smiling since the time I entered this place.
Nestled in Lokhandwala, Yazu speaks luxe with its minimal yet extravagant decor.  So, make sure you wear the best thing from your wardrobe, kyunki ‘gram ke liye acha hoga. What’s more? Well, did I mention the well-stocked bar? So, after clicking a few selfies and posting it on my handle, I decided to do the thing I came here to do - order food and drinks. After skimming through the vast menu, I decided to try out the Wasabi Martini and The Whisky Sour.

Wasabi Martini
Sounds interesting right? It tasted interesting too (in a good way). Made with Ketel One vodka, wasabi (of course) and litchi this cocktail comes with a flavourful punch and is the perfect blend of sweet and spice. I say skip the menu and go for this one!

Whisky Sour
Because I felt like going with the classic. I mean, who doesn’t love whisky sour, right? Made with Johnnie Walker whisky, sugar syrup, egg white and lime juice this cocktail just keeps getting better every time I have it.

Watch it being “Yazu’d” literally.

Steamed Seafood Dumpling (John Dory and Crab Meat)
A friend of mine looked at this picture and said “Bro, it looks like avatar in a bowl”, do you agree or do you agree? But imagine if Monday blues looked like this - I’d fall in love with Mondays! Soft and juicy crab meat tucked into these tiny bundles of flavour is the best thing you’ll get your hands on this week. So, if you want to get a taste of the ocean, you know what to order.

Yazu Salmon Leche De Tigre
That looks delicious, right? Well, it is! Apparently, beautiful and yum things come in small portions which are surprisingly filling. This dish falls in the salad section but I still picked it. I must say, I was very proud of my choice. A layer of avocado topped with fresh salmon and tobiko (fish eggs) every bite of this dish is creamy, fresh and a little bit crunchy. Okay, I’m drooling again.

Yazu Signature Pork Belly
For all the meat lovers, here’s something that you can try. Yazu Signature Pork Belly is braised for over 48 hours which makes tender, flavourful and juicy. It’s served with a side of veggies and is topped with a secret sauce.

Prawn Tempura With Creamy Salmon Sushi
Honestly, after all that food I was stuffed. But how can you come to an Asian place and not eat sushi? So, I went ahead and ordered the prawn tempura. Served with soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi, this sushi with a crunch will surely put your sushi cravings to rest.

tl;dr? I GOAT You
All in all, it was a good experience. The food here is high on flavours and quality. So, immerse yourself in the Asian culture and allow your taste buds to sense the magic of authentic gastronomic bliss.
Also, by the end of it, I learnt how to successfully use chopsticks. So, this means I took my relationship with Asian food to the next level. If this isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
