Things To Give Up In The New Year
It's time we start afresh!
Guys, 2019 is around the corner (wait, didn't we just usher in 2018, like yesterday?) And like every New Year, the time has come for all of us to transform like a phoenix rising out of the ashes. Now is when it suddenly dawns on us to get rid of all the evils that have possessed us for so long. The pressure is REAL!
So, while resolutions like losing weight, waking up early, quitting smoking/drinking are all too common and clichéd, we thought we'd rack our brains in suggesting you newer things to give up to make 2019 an improved version of yourself.
Here we go!
1. Procrastination
Delaying things not just robs you of your potential but makes you super lazy. You no longer feel the thrill of doing anything and that simply sucks. So, stop waiting for things to happen on their own and take the reins of your life in your own hands and create magic. No excuses whatsoever!

2. Negative Thinking
The digital era that we are in, all it takes is a hateful tweet from some random stranger to poison your mind and fill it with negativity. Choose to focus on what makes you happy.
Stop fixating on everything that’s not working right in your life and start paying attention to things that are.

3. Destructive Relationships
Do you have people in your life that don’t give you positive vibes? Yeah, it’s time to show them the door – out of your life. Stop clinging on to them or feeling guilty of breaking relations. If someone is unkind, toxic and unsupportive it’s best you let them go.

4. People Pleasing
Let’s face it. You can’t please everyone. If you try to get everyone on board, you’ll sink your own ship. So, accept this fact and move on. Put yourself before you put others. Sometimes that’s okay too.

5. Hoarding Clutter
Look around your room. If you find things you don’t even remember using, what are they for? Declutter in 2019 and discover why ‘less is more’. Don’t depend on hoarding stuff to bring you joy, because trust us, that’s just a temporary stimulus. You can set up a swap shop at work, where you donate those branded clothes, whose tags you didn’t take off and clean out your closet.

6. Comfort Eating/Junk Eating
The next time you are on an emotional rollercoaster, notice what you do. Do you find yourself looking for happiness in an ice cream tub? Do you stop by a convenience store to stock up on chocolates and all the junk food you can lay your hands on? It's time to let go of this self-destructive habit.

7. Overbooked Schedules
This happens to almost all of us. We have so much on our platter juggling between work commitments and duties that we don’t get the time to live for ourselves. Let 2019 be the year you decide to keep one or two days a week solely for yourself to do things you love.
