SRK Movies From The 90s That Need A Re-Watch Now!
The 90s will be remembered for a bunch of things, like audio cassettes, Tinkle comics, landlines, kisme toffees and most importantly, SRK movies! The King Khan that we know today made his debut in Bollywood in 1992. By the end of the decade had already starred in over 20 films, with several super hits.
When you think of Shah Rukh Khan, you instantly remember movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil To Pagal Hai, or DDLJ. All of them date back to the 90s but they aren’t the only ones.
Shah Rukh Khan has come a long way since the 90s. Catch him talk about his #PassionToPaycheck story live at the Signature Startup Masterclass Season 3 on December 15, in Lucknow. So, don't forget to book your tickets.
As for his forgotten movies, here’s a look at some of his classics that you should add to your watch-list right away.
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994)
Long before SRK won our hearts with all the Raj and Rahul roles, he played a certain Sunil. Sunil is not the most likeable guy. He struggled throughout the plot to win over the girl but doesn’t get her in the end. Despite that, the movie is still so loved because his character is extremely sincere and very real.
Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992)
A guy comes to Bombay to pursue his dream. He does the whole circle of trial and error till he gets the job and the girl. To that, add a few funny scenes, catchy songs and you get a classic 90s film that’s a classic hit too!
Deewana (1992)
Deewana was SRK’s big Bollywood break. He starred alongside Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti in this romantic drama and gave us a blockbuster. Shah Rukh won the Filmfare for Best Male Debut for his performance too.
Yes Boss (1997)
Yes Boss features one of the many ‘Rahuls’ played by SRK. This one wins us over with his humorous side. Rahul Joshi wants to be a successful businessman, so he works hard for his boss, until he falls in love with the girl his boss is pursuing. The rest of it is a classic rom-com that’s worth watching again.
Duplicate (1998)
This one man-show of a movie stars Shah Rukh Khan features SRK in a double role - as the good guy and the bad guy. But, we’re not complaining about this SRK overdose. The story proceeds as bad SRK tries to impersonate good SRK to get away from the cops.
Darr (1993)
Everyone talks about Shah Rukh Khan’s big negative role in Baazigar but almost always forgets about Darr. In this psychological thriller, he played an obsessive lover who stalks his classmate, K-K-K-Kiran. The “king of romance” was much appreciated for this role and even won a Filmfare for Best Villain.
So, which SRK movie will you be watching or re-watching?
