Host A House Party That Makes Your Guest Go “Kya House Party Tha Yaar!”
“It was lit bro”
- Everyone who’s gonna attend your party.
I love house parties! Because, at times, I just want to chill. Be at a place where I can be myself and where I can have a conversation. I like my party, my way.
However, house parties do have the potential of turning into a disaster, when your yaars get their yaars and they get their yaars and it ends up getting all awkward. What do you do then? Don’t worry! I’m here to help you out on how to host a memorable party.
1. Mere Paas Plan Hai!
Unlike your Goa plans that don’t fall through, this will be successful. Because you don’t have to step out whatsoever. So, the first thing to do is to create a checklist, decide what day, time, food, drinks, guests you’d like to invite to this party. All set!
2. Isko Apna Hi Ghar Samajho
Make your guests feel at home (As long as they don’t break an expensive vase or ruin your new rug). So, greet them with a smile or a hug and hand them a drink.

3. Yaar se taal mila
Start with your favourite yaari tracks.‘Yaaron dosti badi hi haseen hai’ is my go-to. Soon enough, you and everyone around will get cosy to let their inner jabra fan out with some groovy Bollywood numbers.

4. Add Thoda Fun to Formal
Yep! All those “how are you?” and “how’s it going?” is fine. But now, it’s time to bring out those lame jokes. And if they don’t get your jokes, it's okay, hand them a McDowell’s peg and wait for them to get into their element.
5. Peak Moment Aayega!
I have noticed that there comes a time in every party where everyone finds a topic to discuss. That’s when you start by giving a funny toast and encourage people to do the same. Play games that create a buzz like ‘Never Have I Ever’.

6. Dip conversations!
Let your food do the talking. There is a reason I really like serving chip and dip at my parties. It encourages everyone to gather around and do the same activity at the same time.

You’re The Best, Jaanlo!
Take a bow. Seriously though, you did a fab job! Now, go and have some fun. I never thought being the source of fun and merriment could make ME so happy. It might sound like a lot of work to throw a great party – and it can be. But there is nothing better than providing a fun, comfortable, open setting for people in your life.
