Netflix & Chill: 5 Shows That Won't Get You Bored This Weekend

Olivia D'silva
There's nothing like binge-watching a good show on a weekend!
Amid some serious competition from Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video, Netflix is killing it like a boss! With amazing shows that would keep you up like a night owl, trust us when we say this, 24-hours in a day to finish watching every show off the planet is not enough! If you haven’t watched any of these shows, what are you waiting for? Christmas?

So, we compiled a list of the best shows you must watch that won’t get you bored this weekend!

1. Ghoul
Get aboard the horror train with ‘Ghoul’. Netflix’s first horror series from India is sure to give you the goosebumps.  This chilling series is about a prisoner who arrives at a remote military interrogation center and turns the tables on his interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. This joint production from the minds behind “Insidious,” “Get Out” and the critically-acclaimed Bollywood film “Udta Punjab” is a must-watch.

2. Sacred Games
Radhika Apte seems to be creating some major waves! Sacred Games is the first Indian television series in collaboration with Netflix and mind you, we are impressed! Based on the critically acclaimed novel, Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra boasts of a stellar star cast and is directed by none other than Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.

3. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Brooklyn nine-nine happens to be our favourite show that we could binge-watch again and again. So, when we heard the show was about to get cancelled, our hearts literally broke. From Captain Ray Holt to Gina Linetti, Detective Charles Boyle, Rosa Diaz, Amy Santiago, Sergeant Terry Jeffords, picking one character would be very difficult. But the funny NYPD detective at Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct has to be Jake Peralta. Hands Down. His quirks and wits got us laughing uncontrollably.

4. Stranger Things
This mind-blowing science fiction show beautifully captures the 80’s small-town life and brings to life the most unbelievable happenings. Stranger Things perfectly encapsulates the horror and sci-fi allusions keeping in mind the show’s own distinctive style. Millie Bobby Brown has managed to make her character ‘Eleven’ iconic.

5. Sherlock
Name a duo better than Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, we’ll wait! While there have been numerous adaptations Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, the one starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is our favourite. From kickass cinematography to a full proof storyline, this engaging version keeps us on the edge of our seats. Grab a bowl of popcorn and we swear you’ll watch each episode back to back without a break.
