5 Things Game Of Thrones Taught Me About Yaari
And, we shall always remember these!
Right from the first season to the final one, if there’s one thing I learnt, it’s that the world of Game of Thrones is full of treachery, terror, backstabbing, misfortune and all things dreary…you get the gist. But, if for one second, I stop being a negative Nancy, there’s actually something very pleasant about this show. And that my friends is, the yaari among some of the most popular GoT characters.
From Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly to Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon, we’ve seen many saccha yaars throughout the 8 seasons of this show.
Which makes us conclude that Westeros is not all about death and destruction. It has plenty of moments that teach us about yaari and camaraderie too. It is this element of friendship that sparks a little joy and humour to this addictively morbid drama.
1. Jon Snow, Arya, Sansa and Bran
Ned Starks famous first words stand true to the show and in life in general too. Whether it’s your siblings (who are your first yaars) or your friends, you are strongest when you are surrounded by people who support you.
2. Jon Snow and Ghost
Humans make for great friends, but pet are those yaars that stay loyal forever. They’ll follow you away from home and will fight off anyone who gets in your way (White Walkers included). Even when it feels like everyone else stabs you in the back (or heart, in case you’re anything like Jon Snow), your friendly dire wolf will stay by your side.
3. Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly
Similar personalities hit it off well, but opposites attract too. Like pieces of a puzzle, two vastly different yaars can fit together. One can be a great warrior and the other can be a super smart maester. Even with such dissimilarities, they can each use their skills to support and complete each other.
4. Sansa Stark and Little Finger
Not all friends are your saccha yaars. Some friends pull your down in life and the faster you realise who they are, the better. Then you can team up with someone who you can really trust and take down the traitor.
5. Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon
Your yaar could literally be your right-hand person today but time changes everything. Make the most of what you have right now, because winter is coming.
I may be a little sad that Game of Thrones will be ending soon but some things, like these lessons in yaari from the show will forever stay in my memories. Don’t you agree?
