Glamourous Drinks For Your Oscar Party
And the Oscar goes to these cocktails!
Roll out the red carpet and chill those glasses because the Oscars are here and it’s time to pop the champagne, shake those cocktails and mix up a storm.
What better way to celebrate the auspicious Oscars than imbibing on some of the more decadent cocktails associated with the silver screen.
We got in touch with our in-house expert, Zachary Abbott – Brand Ambassador for Diageo and he impressed us with a fabulous array of cocktails your guests won’t be able to resist.

1) The Vesper
Created by Ian Fleming in his thriller ‘James Bond Casino Royal’ later had Daniel Craig starring in the film. Bond has always been famous for his martinis, but this is the only one ever, especially created for the character by Fleming, the cocktail is now revered around the world.
Ingredients
45ml Tanqueray 10
15ml Ketel One Vodka
10ml Lillet Vermouth
1 lemon twist
Method
Slowly stir ingredients over ice and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with lemon twist.

2) The Harvey Wallbanger
An absolute classic that you can even make into a punch very easily. Made in the 1950s this cocktail really took off in the 1970’s. Tingle your taste buds with the classic wallbanger!
Ingredients
45ml Ketel One Vodka
15ml Galliano
Ice
Orange juice
Mint leaves
Orange slice
Method
Build everything over ice in a tall glass. Garnish with an orange slice and mint leaves.


3) The Rob Roy
Named after a famous Scottish rebel and later played by Liam Neeson in the Hollywood blockbuster of the same name, the Rob Roy is a strong and bold cocktail worthy of any celebration.
Ingredients
45ml Johnnie Walker Red label
15ml sweet vermouth
2 dashes of aromatic bitters
Maraschino cherry
Lemon twist
Method
Stir over large ice cubes and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with brandied maraschino cherries and a lemon twist.

4) The White Russian
This drink was made famous by Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski shot in 1998, also known as one of the most popular cult movies ever made. Watch it again while you sip on this classic.
Ingredients
30ml Ketel One Vodka
30ml coffee liqueur
Top with milk
Method
Add all ingredients to a glass and stir. Serve.


5) The French 75
From arguably one of the most famous moves of all time, Casablanca. This celebration cocktail was originally named after a WWII French artillery gun but was made famous in 1943 when the film was released. Did you know this film went on to be nominated for eight Oscars winning three including best picture?
Ingredients
30ml Tanqueray Gin
20ml fresh lemon juice
20ml sugar syrup
Topped with champagne
Method
Add all ingredients to a chilled champagne flute and serve. Serve.
