Worst Types Of People You Bump Into At House Parties
I love parties. I absolutely love them. Is there any millennial out there who doesn’t? Well, there may be many exceptions to the rule, to be honest. But hey low-key we all love house parties or have been to a few at least. I mean there’s a whole fun vibe to it, hai na?
Digging into your closet
Trying on 6837 clothes
Choosing that one attire
Clicking selfies with friends
Finally dancing all night
But hey, it’s fun and all when you’re the one ATTENDING the party. What happens when you have to actually THROW ONE? Then it’s a different ball game altogether.
You have to manage the guest list, food, playlist and what not! And to top that there are guests who actually manage to annoy the host. Haven’t we all been there?
You ask us how? Well, read these honest confessions by hosts before you throw one.
1. People Who Arrive Late To The Party
“I had planned everything for my 27th birthday. Everything was perfect- the cake arrived on time, the music was on but do you know what was missing? The guests.
They all arrived fashionably late and I had to reheat the food all over again.
-Aditi Sharma
2. People Who Steal Your Liquor
“I keep a small collection of premium alcohol to myself. But during one of my weekender parties, a colleague of mine found his way into it. While I was making sure the guests were entertained, he digs into my collection and takes out my Johnnie Walker Black Label. Opens the seal (mind you, it was brand new) pours into his glass and gulps it down without any regrets. Only after everybody left, I realised the Johnnie Walker Black Label was over.

3. Messy People
“My wife and I threw a party to celebrate a milestone. It was a fun evening and by 11 p.m. the party had fizzled out. After seeing off the guests, we realised what a mess the whole house had become. There was food on the couch, dirty plates were kept just about everywhere, and our kitchen sink was loaded with a pile of plates. Even our wall-paintings had sauce on it.
It took us one day to get it all cleared and cleaned. We have vowed not to throw anymore house parties again.”
-Saylee Sinha
4. People Who Don’t Know What ‘Plus One’ Mean
“I threw a party for my close office friends a while ago. But they ended up getting people along with them whom I had never met in my life before. Even before we started with dinner, I was standing awkwardly in a corner making small talk with random people about the weather.
-Pratik Nair
